ROWAN HOUSE

Designed as a bold expression of modular architecture, Rowan House is a two-story container residence composed of four 40’ High Cube containers, carefully configured to create a spacious and highly functional family home. The client’s vision centered on maximizing interior volume while maintaining the raw integrity of container construction. The resulting composition balances strong horizontal lines with expansive glazing, delivering a contemporary aesthetic that feels both grounded and refined.

The ground level is formed by two 40’ containers arranged side by side, establishing a generous open-plan living, kitchen, and dining environment. Large sliding glass doors introduce abundant natural light and create a seamless connection to the outdoor terrace. The layout emphasizes clean circulation paths and unobstructed sightlines, allowing the living core to function as a cohesive social hub. A strategically placed stair anchors the plan and provides vertical access without interrupting the openness of the main floor.

Above, two additional 40’ containers complete the second story, accommodating private bedroom zones and flexible spaces such as a studio, office, or fitness area. The upper level extends to a balcony terrace, enhancing the indoor–outdoor experience while adding architectural depth to the façade. Externally, the vertical cladding and exposed container geometry celebrate modular construction while refined detailing softens the industrial language. Rowan House represents a confident, design-driven approach to container living — scalable, structurally efficient, and crafted to deliver contemporary residential performance across two full levels.
